Little bit of London

Hunter and I had a good sleep-in morning today - we got up around noon! I had a meeting at 1:30 I needed to attend so I got ready and prepared for that while Hunter planned our afternoon, booked tickets, looked at google maps for the best transit routes, and researched our further travel options.

After getting the Friday work things out of the way we headed into the city with our first stop food as we were starving. We went to our favorite pizza place, the now chain, Franco Manca. Hunter ordered the meat special which was a spicy honey ham and arugla mix and I ordered the #5 which had anchovies and capers. It was so delicious and both pizzas had such different flavours.

After filling up on delicious pizza, we headed to the British Museum. While still free the British Museum does timed entry now so it's best to book in advance if you're going at anything approaching a busy time. Hunter had made reservations for us but it was fairly quiet when we got there and really just got a faster line, but it was worth the peace of mind. The British Museum has so many interesting pieces, with my absolute favorite being the Egyptian history section. Right now they currently have a lot of the important Egyptian pieces on display in a special exhibit, but there's still so much to see. Egyptian history has always amazed me and I love getting to learn more. It truly makes me want to visit Egypt!

The British Museum is only open late one night a week, luckily it was tonight!

A historical look at the pyramids of Giza complex

Some of these paintings are 1000s of years newer than others there is a ton to Egyptian history.

After exploring a tiny corner of the museum taking up most of our evening, we decided to head over to Big Ben as the scaffolding is finally gone. I have never seen it without scaffolding so I was excited to go.

Scaffold free at last!

After snapping a few photos, we decided we were pretty tired and would start the hour-long journey back to the hotel. While staying near the airport is often the cheapest and has some nice hotels, it's not very convenient to the main attractions in London.

On the train ride back we talked more about how cool the hieroglyphics were and how amazing it would be to see them in person! We decided to check in on some flights and finally made the decision to visit Egypt! Hunter and I were heading to Cario!

When we got back to the hotel, we made a quick snack stop at a grocery for some cookies I've been dying to have and also stopped at McDonald's for a quick dinner. We then hurried back to the hotel where I started packing up our bags for our departure tomorrow! It was another late night but we went to bed around 1am!

UK Mcdonalds is 10% more expensive and 90% better than the US

Using up our drink tickets, I had ginger ale and Hunter had a Swedish cider
